What does CBD stand for?

Hey there, fellow hemp enthusiasts! Let's talk about CBD, which stands for "Cannabidiol"  one of those fancy 113 compounds naturally hanging out in hemp, the chill strain of the cannabis plant (you know, the one that likes to go by the name "marijuana").

Now, CBD is like nature's chill pill, finding its way into all sorts of products, from oils to edibles, to give you that cozy, relaxed feeling. It's like your very own personal Zen guru in a bottle!

But don't get it twisted – CBD is the responsible cousin of THC. While THC is all about the party and making you see unicorns dancing on rainbows, CBD is like, "Nah, man, I'm just here to bring some chill vibes." So, no wild hallucinations or getting high like a helium-filled balloon with CBD. It's more like a soft, fluffy cloud of relaxation and calmness.

You might be wondering, "So, does CBD have any side effects, dude?" Well, not really. It's like the marshmallow of the Cannabis Sativa world just pure sweetness without the psychoactive tricks. It's great for relief from stress, anxiety, and pain, without sending you on a wild trip to Wonderland.

Now, I've got some news for you. About 5% of people claim they feel a "high" from CBD. But hey, these are the same folks who probably get loopy after munching on too many painkillers like paracetamol or aspirin. So, they're just the quirky bunch.

Remember, your body might have its own wild dance party with CBD, so it's always smart to consult a health specialist before diving in. Safety first, people! And if you're gonna go on this CBD journey, do it with a trustworthy companion by your side, like a responsible buddy who can keep you grounded.

Public interest in and the availability of CBD have grown due to its promising health benefits. People use CBD to help with a wide variety of physical and mental issues, including pain, nausea, addiction, and depression.

So, there you have it, CBD – the non-psychoactive superhero here to save the day, bringing you relaxation, minus the crazy highs. Stay chill, my friends! 🌿😎

What is the difference between HEMP and CBD?

Alright, folks, let's untangle this hemp mystery the epic battle of hemp vs. CBD!  It's like a showdown in the Wild West, but instead of gunslingers, we've got hempseed ninjas and CBD cowboys!

Both marijuana and hemp plants contain a variety of compounds, including CBD and THC, along with more than 540 other substances. The key distinction between these two plants lies in the differing quantities of CBD and THC they contain.

Marijuana generally has a higher THC content and lower levels of CBD. In contrast, hemp tends to have higher concentrations of CBD and lower levels of THC.

Importantly, the therapeutic benefits of CBD remain consistent whether it is derived from marijuana or hemp. Common side effects, such as upset stomach, fatigue, or feelings of edginess, persist regardless of the plant source. This is due to the consistent chemical composition of CBD, independent of its origin.

However, the amount of CBD available for extraction does vary depending on the source. Hemp plants typically offer a significantly higher CBD yield, making them a more lucrative option for manufacturers with reduced potential legal ramifications.

The primary difference between hemp-derived CBD and marijuana-derived CBD pertains to their legal status. In the UK, as of 2023, CBD is legally purchasable, provided products adhere to strict controls limiting cannabinoids like THC to no more than 1 mg per container.

How long does it take for CBD oil to work?

The key with CBD is patience. Everyone is different and your experience will depend on several factors such as age, gender, weight and even your tolerance level if you’re a new user, your body may be more susceptible to the effects of CBD.

While some people may feel the effects straight away, it can generally take up to 3-4 weeks of consistent usage to notice results. This is down to the cumulative effect as the CBD builds up in the bloodstream according to your body’s required level.

From CBD oils and sprays to CBD edibles, there’s many different ways to start incorporating CBD into your life. When it comes to dosage, there is no one-size-fits-all but for the best results, we recommend following our tips to gradually introduce CBD to your daily routine. For long-term benefits, consistency is the most important factor so remember to keep up with your daily intake.

What are the benefits of using CBD?

Beyond supporting your body’s overall wellness, CBD and many other cannabinoids have more specific benefits for you to enjoy.

  • Sense of calmness that aids when needing to focus.
  • Relief from stress and anxiety.
  • Help in recovery from exercise-induced inflammation.
  • Assists in improving sleep cycles.
  • Improves blood circulation and metabolism.
  • Balances hormonal activity.
  • Enhances natural bodily functions.
  • Reduces seizures, anxiety attacks and muscle spasms.
  • Can be useful when fighting cancer.
  • Aids in treating glaucoma, diabetes, arthritis and depression.

How does CBD and hemp even work?

Your body is born with an Endocannabinoid System which is built out of receptors placed all over your body. These receptors are activated once cannabinoids enter your body and they communicate with many other parts and systems in your body such as the blood system, nervous system, immune system, digestive system and more.

It is self-regulating and when properly functioning, helps administer health and wellness throughout your body. You can trust CBD products to work well for you because your body is practically wired for it from birth. Just like food is digested and provides you with energy, CBD is received in the endocannabinoid system and helps regulate wellness benefits. 🌿🤠

What are the different kinds of hemp extract?

The terms “Broad Spectrum”, “Full Spectrum” and “Isolate” describe the amount of cannabinoids in a hemp product. Isolates only have one specific cannabinoid in them, for example CBD or CBG isolates.

Full Spectrum products have all 100+ cannabinoids in them, including THC in a very low concentration (maximum 0.3% by law in every CBD product) and Broad Spectrum products have the majority of the cannabinoids in them, usually without any THC whatsoever. Both full and broad spectrum consist of terpenes, fatty acids and flavonoids.

Hemp-derived CBD products, whether they be full or broad spectrum, may only contain up to 0.3% THC.

When the concentration is that low, your mental state will not be altered and you will not feel a psychoactive effect. THC, just like all the other cannabinoids (CBN, CBG, CBC and more), has its own benefits and can truly help you to deal with certain problems such as sleep apnea, inflammation and nausea.

When searching for a CBD product for the first time, it is crucial you ask if it is full or broad spectrum in order to ensure you will be receiving the correct product for the issues you may be experiencing. For instance, if you are suffering from stress and anxiety - full spectrum may not be the best option for you. Always consult with a health specialist and a CBD consultant to find out which product best suits your needs, lifestyle and budget.

 Summary 🤓

CBD is attracting considerable public interest because of its promise in treating various physical and mental health issues, even though there is no scientific evidence to prove these health claims.

Hemp and marijuana are two different varieties of the C. sativa plant with hemp containing more CBD and minimal THC.

Most CBD products are made from hemp plants as they contain far more CBD and almost no THC, which is the compound that creates the ‘high.’

Individuals considering using CBD for physical or mental challenges should inform their doctors to make sure it does not interact with any medications they may be taking.

The main difference between hemp CBD and marijuana CBD is legal standing.
